Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd

The sculpture "Revolver with Knot," known as "Non-violence," was originally created by the artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd in 1980 as a symbol and tribute to John Lennon's fight for a peaceful world. Most people recognize the sculpture, with the most famous one located outside the United Nations building in New York. However, the artwork can also be found in Berlin and Beijing. Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd later transferred the rights to the sculpture to the Non-Violence Project Foundation, an organization that has since appointed several cultural ambassadors around the world.

A contribution to the Non-Violence Project is made for each sold sculpture. The Non-Violence Project Foundation is an international organization that educates young people in nonviolence, self-esteem, and conflict resolution. Since its establishment in 1993, the organization has educated over 8 million young people and teachers in 30 countries across 5 continents.
