Paul McCartney and John Lennon were childhood friends from Liverpool who formed one of the world's most famous bands, The Beatles. The artwork Music for Peace can also be seen as a fine tribute from Paul McCartney to his murdered friend John Lennon. The famous sculpture with the knotted revolver was originally made by the Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd. The sculpture was a tribute to Lennon's fight for peace and love and McCartney's colorful version gives the symbolic meaning a new meaning. A nice closing circle and a unique work of art! The organization Non-Violence Foundation works to reduce violence in the world and, among other things, trains children in non-violence and conflict resolution. In addition to Paul McCartney, both Ringo Starr and Yoko Ono have been ambassadors for the organization. All surplus from the sale goes to Non-Violence. Limited Edition Sculpture The sculpture of Ringo Starr for the Non-Violence Project is available in three sizes, 19cm, 30cm and 40cm, and is made on hand-painted polyresin. The sculpture is available in a limited edition, the 19 cm is available in an edition of 499 copies, the 30 cm in an edition of 299 copies and the larger 40 cm is available in 199 copies.
