• The artwork Relaxed Turtle is a photo taken in the Philippines in 2018. - I was out to photograph a giant sardine run which is a shoal of millions of sardines that stand in the same place year after year and just spin around like a huge ball and change shapes and one after the other, a fantastic spectacle says Patrik When I started to swim back I came across this fantastic turtle which allowed me to get really close with my camera, as close as 20-30 cm without being scared away. You have to be really calm and move very carefully so as not to scare away the fish or the animals. As you can see, there is a small shoal of sardines behind the turtle, some that have escaped from the giant shoal. With his work, Patrik wants to show how fantastic and beautiful it still is in our seas and how important it is that we together preserve our natural heritage so it is not lost.
