• The Audition: - A while ago I made a painting called Fame, of which The Audition is a sequel. Both paintings are set in showbiz and are reminiscent of each other. The figures in the motifs (which I usually call fantasy figures) have become representative for me; not only in these paintings, but also in my other works. They are born in an endless flow, fill countless of my sketchpads and have become a bit of my trademark as an artist. First I sketch, and later I combine them together to find compositions that work for different works. Graphic sheet in limited edition Tony Nilsson sketches constantly; something he has done since childhood, as long as he can remember. For him, sketching is improvisational and what is appears in the countless sketchpads, is captured and saved. Some sketches make it all the way to finished works right away, while others are left for the moment and resumed later. Unlike other artists, however, he does not want to be placed in a certain compartment, but to be free to create in his own way, regardless of how it then expresses itself. The Audition is a pigment print and is sold at Noagallery.se in a limited edition of 200 copies, where each graphic sheet is numbered and signed by the artist.
