Portrait: An abstract portrait of Måns Heidvall. He has previously taught graphics and worked extensively with lithographic printing but now paints with acrylics and masking tape to bring out his characteristic motifs. He came up with the technique when an illness made it difficult for him to hold the brush still and get the right sharpness. "Suddenly, I saw right in front of me how I was going to do it and it's a technique that I've stuck to for many years," says Måns Heidvall. Here, warm ocher and red tones break against purple and plum-coloured.
