Have previously had the good fortune to meet this beautiful and hawk-like (hence the name) owl on a couple of different occasions here in Skåne. Some years some of these tawny owls move south and then you have the opportunity to see and study them here as well. The sharp intense gaze from the yellow eyes will be etched on the retina for a long time to come. It is precisely this experience that I am trying to portray in this watercolor.
