• Dahlia by Malin Signahl: - The painting Dahlia is inspired by one of late summer's beautiful Dahlias. Long-stemmed flowers that are nice to place in a vase during the late summer months when the evenings are still warm and autumn is around the corner. For me, the dahlias with their rich bloom are one of the absolute favorites in summer bouquets. - - In the motif, I have worked with the contrasting effect between light and dark as a supporting image element. - The darker surfaces in the image contrast against and lift the lighter parts. I have also used the fluidity of watercolor, which is exciting in a large motif.
